That's a wrap - sadly

Here we are June 2021, over a year down the track and I hadn't blogged about the Sea Princess cruise at all, so maybe it is too late now anyway. The planned Circle Pacific cruise we'd been looking forward to for almost two years, was canned, and with it, the chance to catch up with so many cruising friends.  That was a bitter disappointment for all of us.     Sadly, the Sea Sun and Dawn Princess ships have all gone and other planned cruises had to be cancelled. So 2020 apart from the 7 day Queensland cruise, was a total write off from a travel perspective, not to mention various lock-down restrictions so we were booked on a 2021 14 day Aus-NZ-Aus cruise for December, but mid June, that too was cancelled. But, I'm hoping to fly to the UK, early September. Wish me luck and maybe two new blogs for 2021, one of which has already been started - an MIQ blog.

Off tomorrow - Sea Princess

Testing times. With the Diamond Princess stuck at Yokohama, our hearts go out to those stuck on board, in quarantine. We have always enjoyed sea days (and nights), but that has been with the ability to roam the ship, 24 hours a day. Enjoying the fresh air, maybe even kicking a ball around the sport’s court, or just curled up at some ungodly hour, unable to sleep, but happy to have a drink, maybe a bite to eat and with a favourite book. Maybe even chat to another insomniac, temporary or afflicted by pain, or maybe even someone either chucked out of the cabin for snoring, or sneaking out so as to not wake a sleeping partner. Freedom. Daytime it has usually been a day of breakfast in the buffet, a ‘Men’s Shed’ meeting, followed by morning trivia, (Zumba for some, but not me - often the older ladies only go if it is  a hunky male instructor, just waiting for him to take off his shirt), ukulele class or dance class, late lunch, relax in the cabin or on deck. An early show before...

After a 2019 break, 2020 calls

It seems strange not having written a blog in 2019, not to mention tailing off 2018. The health hiccup of 2017 seemed to be a bit of a distant memory and everything was looking good until a second wallop March 2019 knocked us back again, meaning the travel plans for a Hawaii Cruise and a round Australia Cruise had to be canned. A couple of visits to Brisbane were a step in the right direction then a two week cruise over Christmas, from Sydney to Auckland was another positive step forward.  So 2020 opens with plans for Dunedin end January; a short 7 day Queensland cruise February; another Pacific Circle cruise April and for me, another UK September Goodwood Revival trip end August, Adelaide cruise November. So hopefully, a good run this year. Happy New Year everyone – though the numbers reading this will be low at this time of the year as the blog address hasn’t been published!
